How much does an AI photo booth cost in 2026?

There are three ways to pay for an AI photo booth: rent one for your event, run AI software on a booth you own, or buy a complete kiosk. This guide gives real, published prices for each, shows how to work out the cost of one event, and lists the costs people forget.

The short answer

  • Renting for one event: in Lahore, DG Photobooth charges PKR 30,000 to PKR 45,000 for 3–4 hours, including prints and WhatsApp sharing. Prices in other cities and countries vary, so get a written quote.
  • Software for a booth you already own: on DG Photobooth, from $1 for one day or $30 to $90 a month, plus $0.45 per AI image.
  • Buying a complete AI photo booth kiosk: $2,850 to $4,400 at DG Photobooth, including a year of software and 500 AI credits, plus freight.

Pricing

1. Renting an AI photo booth

If you are planning one event, renting is simplest: the company brings the booth, sets it up, runs it and takes it away. You pay for booth time, not equipment, and someone else worries about the camera, the printer and the internet.

Rental prices depend on your city, the number of hours, whether prints are included and how much custom design you want. As one real example, DG Photobooth's rental in Lahore is PKR 30,000 to PKR 45,000 for 3–4 hours, including AI portraits, prints, WhatsApp and QR sharing, and a custom frame.

When you compare rental quotes, check what is actually included. Two quotes for the same hours can differ a lot once you add prints, a custom frame, an attendant, setup time and travel.

  • How many hours of booth time, and does that include setup?
  • Are prints included, and is there a limit on how many?
  • Is a custom frame with your names, date or logo included?
  • How do guests receive their photos: WhatsApp, QR code, email?
  • Is there an attendant for the whole event?
  • Are travel costs extra if the venue is outside the company's city?

2. Running AI software on your own booth

If you already own a booth or plan to build one, you pay for software and AI generations. This is where pricing models differ most. Some apps charge per AI portrait, some unlock AI only on higher tiers, and some sell AI through a separate account.

The table below uses each vendor's own published prices. Compare them against one typical event of yours, not against each other in the abstract.

DG Photobooth plans in detail

On DG Photobooth, one credit is one AI image: a face swap, a virtual try-on or a styled transformation delivered to a guest. Every credit costs $0.45, whichever pack you buy, and standard captures with frames and overlays do not use credits.

3. Buying a complete AI photo booth kiosk

A turnkey kiosk bundles the enclosure, camera, touchscreen, lighting, computer and software, so you can take it out of the case and run an event the same day. It suits rental companies starting out, venues that want a permanent booth, and agencies that don't want to build their own rigs.

DG Photobooth kiosks cost $2,850 to $4,400 depending on the camera and screen. Each one ships in a flight case with the software pre-activated, 12 months of DG Unlimited (3 devices) and 500 AI credits. Power is 110V/220V autosensing, and freight is quoted per country; kiosks ship to 40+ countries.

Because the first year of DG Unlimited (3 devices) is included, compare the kiosk price with the cost of the hardware plus a year of software, not with the hardware alone.

Worked example: what does one event cost?

Here is how to estimate the AI side of one event. The numbers below are an example, not a quote; replace them with your own.

Say 200 guests attend a wedding. If about 60% use the booth and each takes 2 AI photos, that is 200 × 0.6 × 2 = 240 AI images. At $0.45 per credit that is $108, plus $1 for the Day Pass licence. If the same event ran hot and guests took 3 AI photos each, you would use 360 credits, or $162.

If you run four events like that a month, you would use about 960 credits a month: a Season 1,000 pack ($450) plus DG Unlimited at $30 a month covers it. Because every credit costs the same, you can put a fixed AI cost into each event quote.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the cheapest way to get an AI photo booth?

For one event, renting is usually cheapest. If you already own a booth, a single-event software licence such as DG Photobooth's $1 Day Pass is the lowest-commitment option.

How much does it cost to buy an AI photo booth?

DG Photobooth's turnkey kiosks cost $2,850 to $4,400 including a year of software and 500 AI credits. Freight depends on the destination.

Are AI photos charged per photo?

It depends on the software. LumaBooth charges $0.10 per AI portrait; DG Photobooth charges $0.45 per AI image on every plan; Sparkbooth uses a separate AI credit account.

How much does it cost to rent an AI photo booth in Pakistan?

DG Photobooth rents an AI booth in Lahore for PKR 30,000 to PKR 45,000 for 3–4 hours, including prints and WhatsApp sharing. Events in other cities may add travel costs.

How many AI credits do I need for an event?

Multiply guests by the share who will use the booth and by the AI photos each takes. For example, 200 guests × 60% × 2 photos is 240 credits, or $108 on DG Photobooth.

Are AI credits included in DG Photobooth plans?

No. The plans cover the software, which keeps them low. AI credits come in packs of 500, 1,000, 5,000 or 10,000 at $0.45 per image, with no volume tiers.

Is there a free trial?

Yes: 50 test credits, no credit card, so you can run real AI generations on your own setup before choosing a plan.
